I am sitting at SEATAC airport looking out at a very rainy day, and a humongous British Airway plan just pulled up to the window right in front of me…it’s mine…well, mine and umpteen other folks headed to Heathrow tonight. I had to laugh because the nose of the plane is painted to look like a soccer ball! Homage to the World Cup perhaps? It’s kind of cute – for British humor ;).

Andrew just dropped me off here and I have to admit it is a bit strange getting ready to fly for such a long haul, and such a distance “solo” – but my hope is that he, and the kids can join me on one of these journeys sometime soon.
I have done a self-directed crash course in using Camtasia – a cool recording and editing tool that is used to capture and narrate processes done on computers. In this case the Smart Care team is using this technology to create user training online for the clinic staff who will need to use the smart card system for creating and accessing medical records. It wasn’t too difficult to get the hang of using this program because I have done a fair amount of video editing with online tools – but it’s always fun to have another “bit o’ techie” under my belt.
The flight from her to London is 9.5 hours – then I have a layover for 5 or so hours – then on to Lusaka…a 10 hour jaunt. Hoping melatonin and a snug window seat will afford me a stretch of sleep.
See you on the African continent…
